Laing O’Rourke is totally committed to ensuring that the Health and Wellbeing of those who work for us, is not compromised in any way whilst undertaking work on the companies behalf. We also appreciate that the life style of our employees can have a major impact on their ability to undertake work, and that any work activity with the potential to affect their health can have a major impact on their life, in the work / non-work related environment.
We also recognize that it is essential that, regardless of what actions are being taken to address this, it is essential that the effectiveness of the steps being taken is measured.
In order to do this, we use a number of indicators to monitor the effectiveness of our programs and campaigns, identify areas for improvement and identify possible trends.
These include;
• Health Surveillance data provided via our Occupational Heath, service provider.
• Monthly summary reports provided by our Occupational Health, service provider.
• General feedback obtained during the Life Style Assessments.
• Use of data obtained via the use of “self testing” stations.
• Results relating to our Drug & Alcohol Testing programme.
• Feedback from our bi-monthly health campaigns
• Feedback from back to work interviews
• Monitoring of sickness / absence statistics
• Results from Inspections / Audits
