Liverpool Heart and Chest NHS Foundation Trust
H2. Occupational Health Standards
1 January, 2013
Submitted: 26 July, 2013
Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital is currently going through a re-tender of its Occupational Health Service and as part of that re-tender we pledge to ensure that the NHS Occupational Health Standards play an integral part in the renewal of the service.
We also pledge to ensure that a full review of the Occupational Health Standards takes place and that key stakeholders are included. For example, our Health and Safety Lead is currently a member of the Health and Wellbeing Group and therefore can play an important role in ensuring that Section A, along with other sections, of the standards are being met.
We pledge to ensure that following the re-tender, we ensure that the Trust has an effective Occupational Health programme which provides a service covering each of the topics in the Occupational Health Standards. For example, stress, pregnancy and musculoskeletal disorders. The Trust pledges to ensure that where possible, it has a policy in place which covers these subjects and/or makes it evident on the intranet where support can be found. For example, via the Employee Assistance Programme website. The Trust will review the Occupational Health Standards when conducting its internal HR policy review which happens regularly throughout the year.
The above pledge has also been included in our Health and Wellbeing Strategy for 2013 – 2015 to ensure a continual commitment throughout 2014 and beyond.
