H1. Chronic Conditions Guide and Carers

We have a rehabilitation and “fit note” guide with referral to Occupational Health (OH) to support employees with any condition which impacts on their ability to attend work or to undertake duties for which they are employed.
We also operate tailored phased or modified return to work structures for individual cases where individuals with long term absence or chronic conditions can be graduated back to work to facilitate their recovery.
The Occupational Health Advisors (OHA) communicate with GPs on individual cases to support employees and ensure the GP has an understanding of the type of work the employee undertakes and the support Greggs provides to enable the employee to work safely with their condition.
Managers are supported in the workplace with guidance on how to assist employees on a day to day basis to attend work and prevent any problems in the work place through awareness of relevant individual conditions.
We provide an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) that allows employees to seek private confidential talking therapies – self referred and free of charge. This is often promoted by managers and the OHA and is administered on our behalf through UNUM..
