H3. Health & Wellbeing Report

Committed since:

1 January, 2013

Delivery plan:

Submitted: 20 December, 2011

We pledge to include a health and well being report on our employees in our annual report. The sickness and absence report will be included once we have completed an upgrade of our existing reporting systems. We are working with Healthy Ambitions Suffolk (a project to make Suffolk the healthiest county by 2028) to both raise awareness of general wellbeing and the benefits of increased physical activity in the workplace. A steering group has been created representing all areas of our business and awareness campaigns, health screening and other activities planned for the next twelve months which are being trialled initially in our head offices, breweries and depots. Our intranet has a dedicated section on this area and provides useful information and signposts for our staff to empower them to adopt healthy lifestyles. Our plan is to work towards achieving a Healthy Ambitions Suffolk Gold Award. The Gold Award demonstrates a company's commitment to the improvement of the health of employees, demonstrates the existence of a comprehensive package of interventions to create and maintain a healthy workplace and that the company is promoting a sense of well-being amongst its employees. Once achieved we will look to use the lessons learned to roll the programme out to our employees in our pubs, hotels and restaurants.
