Please describe how you report on the health and wellbeing of your employees, including annual sickness rates
Absence reporting is managed on a period basis with an average of 8,000 days lost to sickness. As we continue monitoring during 2015, we will be able to report on sickness trends and evaluate how wellbeing initiatives throughout the business are directly impacting upon reducing absence levels.
With easy access to our self-service portal GKi, which includes our employee benefits, we are proud to have seen a dramatic increase of 611% in the use of our Employee Assistance Programme, which supports our employee’s physical and emotional wellbeing. Our employees have been supported with legal or counselling advice as well as gaining access to the interactive health and wellbeing information available.
At our head office, our staff restaurant has introduced healthier food options. In our pubs, employees have the opportunity to choose the healthier dishes, such as salads and, on some menus under 500 calories dishes, from the menu, at a 50% discounted rate.
