As a responsible employer, we take all reasonable steps to ensure that any employee who is absent from the business as a result of long term sickness is provided with appropriate care and support, as required.As a business, we partner with a number of internal and external providers including an in-house occupational health care team, BUPA care management, an employee assistance programme helpline and Molson Coors' environmental health and safety team. Line Managers regularly maintain contact with the employee concerned throughout their period of absence, to enquire about their welfare, provide relevant updates and to support a successful return to the workplace.Line Managers may also conduct welfare meetings with the employee to ensure that they are receiving appropriate support, including discussing understanding the medical situation, prognosis, and determining whether there are any practical steps that can be taken to help support the employees' return to the workplace, including what, if any, reasonable adjustments can be made.We offer BUPA support, involving an initial phone call to the employee from BUPA and ongoing follow up care and support from BUPAWe may, as part of a care programme, ask the employee to undergo a medical examination with our nominated occupational health practitioner or an independent consultant. The independent medical assessment is in order to understand the nature of the illness or injury, to obtain an accurate prognosis, expected date of return to work and determine if changes need to be made to facilitate a return to work (i.e. a phased return to work, or further reasonable adjustments). In addition, we offer a number of flexible benefits to our employee population, including BUPA membership and dental cover, which is available to all employees. Health screening can be purchased at a corporate rate if this does not form part of an employee's standard package.The company offers BUPA employee assistance, which is available for employees and their immediate family members, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on a freephone number. This is a confidential service and can also include telephone and face to face counselling as part of this provision.In addition, a flexible working policy can be requested.
