H4. Healthier Staff Restaurants

Please decribe how you and your caterers have encouraged healthier restaurants/vending outlet/buffets (as applicable) for your staff over the last year. There is a 2000-character limit when completing this section.
HSE has implemented measures to encourage healthier staff restaurants by increasing in provision of the salad bar and salad boxes, whilst offering a range of fresh fruit and low fat yoghurts. The recipes are cooked in olive oil and low fat sauces, over half the recipes are 500 calories or less. Portion control is also considered, all meals are container controlled apart from the salad bar. Fresh vegetables are delivered daily and used in all recipes. A new sandwich bar was introduced this year with various healthy fillings and a choice of wholemeal and granary breads. Vegetarian options are included in all menus.
