Lafarge Tarmac have a health & well - being strategy for 2014. It revolves around, prevention, intervention & health & well - being. Prevention of occupational ill health & diseases is through occupational health risk assessment, engineering, process and procedural controls. Intervention is reliant on early identification of health issues and fast and efficient medical intervention to increase the chances of no absence and/or early return to work. Staff well-being is integral to having a fit and healthy workforce who are best placed to give their best. We are also encouraging families to become involved.
1. Reduce occupational risk through hazard identification, good quality risk assessments and controls
2. Workplace focused interventions to deliver compliance and foremost to prevent occupational ill–health through overexposure to health hazards
3. Worker oriented interventions to rehabilitate employees so that they can continue in employment and/or return to work earlier
4. Well-being initiatives to enhance the general health and well-being of our employees by
providing opportunities to promote well-being through provision of a broad range of benefits and health awareness and improvement campaigns.
A full audit programme covering all aspects of employee occupational health is in place for 2014 and it is envisaged that in the future an external body will be approached to audit the system and progress.
