The attendance management policy addresses the key responsibilities and duties of all staff with regards to managing attendance.
All staff sickness absence is recorded on the Electronic Staff Record (ESR). The sickness absence reasons are recorded and sickness absence is actively managed with Return to Work Interviews by Line Managers. Advice is sought from the Personnel and Development Managers as required to support attendance management within the Trust.
Sickness absence analysis trends are reported to Divisional Boards and Directorate Boards on a monthly basis.
Support systems are in place to assist employees to return to work following sickness and to quickly access necessary investigations or treatment required to facilitate this - such as "Fast Track" and Rapid access Physiotherapy, with in house access to confidential counselling services, and ongoing work on further developing a rehabilitataion to work programme for those on longer term sickness.
