P4. Physical Activity in the Workplace
22 October, 2013
Submitted: 13 December, 2013
The CPS will seek to promote physical activity as part of its recently launched Health, wellbeing and attendance strategy. This will include the intranet site linked to the strategy which will be used to promote and disseminate the health benefits of being physically active. The CPS also has a number of policies which promote physical activity such as the cycle to work scheme and the advance of funding for employees to purchase bicycles. CPS estates also promote healthy travel to work in the consideration of car parking policies and the supply of facilities such as secure cycle storage, changing room and health facilities.
In addition the Service will form a project group to consider each of the pledges under the responsibility deal to consider further ways to improve delivery of this commitment. Under this pledge the group will be asked to consider, in particular, the appointing of local champions, or the use of existing networks to encourage colleagues to be more active.
