H2. Occupational Health Standards

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust contracts with Working Well, the Occuaptional Health Service of the 2gether Foundation Trust to provide Occupational Health Services to our staff. These include health screening services at recruitment in addition to a referral service for staff which may be self referral or management referral. We also collaborate with Working Well on a number of internal workstreams and they have assisted in reviewing our draft Staff Health & Wellbeing Strategy as well as sitting on internal committees such as the Trust Health & Wellbeing Committee, the Staff Health & Wellbeing Committe and the Stress & Wellbeing Committee.

Working Well is in the process of achieving national accreditation in 2 assurance systems. The first is the process of achieving accreditation with the Constructing Better Health scheme. This is a national scheme run by and for the Construciton industry. Of greater relevance to GHFT is that Working Well is in the process of achieving accreditation in the Safe and Efficient Quality Occupational Health Service (SEQOHS). This is a scheme run by the faculty of occuaptional medicine and hosted by the Royal COllege of Physicians. This has become the most widely recognised industry assurance scheme. It is anticipated that Working Well will achieve accreditaton by APril 2015 and they have also been part of group that has drafted new SEQOHS standards for promulgation in 2015.

They are also considering applying for accreditation with ISO 18001 which deals with Oocational Health and Safety management and process. A decision on whether to proceed will be taken in January 2015.
