H6. Staff Health Checks

BBGR, work in conjunction with Bupa and BHSF offering health & wellbeing initiatives and flexible benefits. Employees are eligible to purchase extra annual leave through a salary sacrifice scheme, which has proven to be a very popular benefit with employees.

At the start of employment all employees undertake a general health check which is conducted to understand any ongoing health concerns as well as making reasonable adjustments to accommodate the comfort of the employee.

Free eye test vouchers are available on an annual basis for all employees including discounted eye benefits for friends and family.

As part of the Wise and Well project BBGR will be looking into promoting mini health checks or manned health monitors for 2016.

We also provide ongoing awareness, training and support for managers to ensure effective management for those employees with mental health problems by promoting the identification of stress issues and promoting the benefits of mental wellbeing and resilience. This will result in the provision of positive workplace support, reducing harmful attitudes and stigma, improving a culture of understanding and support, and providing mental health awareness programs to benefit all employees.
