At Jamie Oliver Licensing Ltd we are aware of the impact of too much salt in the diet and its impact on public health, which is why we have signed up to the Department of Health salt reduction pledge. We recognise we that we have a role to play and are committed to reducing salt and helping support the public health goal of consuming no more than 6g of salt per day. We have our own internal nutrition standards, of which the Responsibility Deal salt targets are an element of these standards and we have been working to them for over 4 years.
At present Jamie Oliver Licensing Limited have retail products which fall into 7 of the 80 product categories. We meet the 2012 salt targets for each of the categories that fall within our product range.
It is compulsory that our suppliers provide us nutrition information and that all our retail products meet the salt targets. This is managed and reviewed by our Technical team with support from our Head of Nutrition, a Registered Nutritionist. We have an internal supplier management system, which from June 2013 we will utilise to keep track of all the products that we source and develop from our suppliers for our retail products. Our Licensing and Technical Team, Development Chef and Head of Nutrition work closely during the development of all new retail products to ensure all products meet the salt targets.
