H6. Staff Health Checks

At Dartmouth General Contractors, we are passionate and committed to the implementation & promotion health & well-being of our staff and supply chain.

We will be launching our 'Health and Well-Being' programme in January 2014, which sets out key strategic areas to assist and promote healthier life styles, within our staff and supply chain.

One of the identified strategic areas is , 'Staff Health Checks'.

We are keen to offer our staff the opportunity for free and confidential support and advice, relating to 'Health Checks' within a sensitive and caring manner. It is envisaged and hoped all see the positives within this initiative as we are looking into an aging workforce. For Dartmouth General Contractors, the message is about 'Personal Awareness' and making personal changes that enhances their work life balance.

In order to deliver the above, we set out the following areas of focus:

1. Engaging with external 'Occupational Health Provider' to assist Dartmouth in delivery of its programme.

2. Promotion of health screening, looking at cholesterol, diabetes, body mass, lung function, blood pressure.

3. Promotion of 'Online Workstation Assessments', 'Live Well - NHS Choices'.

4. Offer 3 year well-being assessments and medicals to all staff

We will use our existing communication routes with Staff & Supply Chain including, Internet, e-mails, team performance reviews, workshops, customer engagement days.

The above programme is championed by the 'Operations Manager' who will hold position of coordinator and reporting to Dartmouth Board and Department of Health.

It is envisaged that our 'Health and Well-Being Programme' will encourage / promote healthier lifestyles to all within there activities both in and out of the workplace, whilst also having some fun.
