The CSP has a long running campaign called Move for health which aims to highlight the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle and the benefitss of regular physical activity and exercise. As part of the move for health campaign, CSP held "Work out at work day" on September 8th to help celebrate 'World physical therapy day' here in the UK.On the day over 200 events were organised by CSP members and media coverage has so far reached over 14 million people. The aim of "Workout at work day" was to encourage employees to take breaks and become more active both during their working day, and outside of work, and engage in more active travel. We wanted to highlight the business benefits of having a fit, healthy and physically active workforce and to demonstrate physiotherapists roles in helping deliver this. Focussing on one day with a simple fun message gave members an opportunity to organise events in their local communities. The activities were simple and fun, designed to help position physiotherapy as having a key role in keeping people fit for work. The events would hopefully spark further interest in health at work and the role of physiotherapy, and generate local media interest.Physiotherapists aimed to make all activities inclusive of everyone, including people who may not usually take regular exercise or who may have a disability or health condition. There were more than 200 events held to mark workout at work dayCoverage generated by CSP press office and members combined = 185 items (as of Friday 9 September)Coverage achieved by members locally = 15 (as of Friday 9 September)Coverage by press office and members is likely to increase further - details are still coming inSocial media = 55 tweets with #workoutatwork hashtag, more without. 15 of Donna Castles (@donnacastle) tweets about Wowd were retweeted by other people.Health Minister, Ann Milton MP, provided a message of support for workout at work day, and an Early Day Motion was tabled in support of the day. A number of MPs issued press releases in their local constituencies encouraging people to be more physically active and 11 MPs tweeted messages of support or photos of themselves being active. The CSP supports its own employees to undertake active travel through a bicycle loan scheme and an internal bike storage facility.
