H1. Chronic Conditions Guide and Carers

This is a combined update for Pledges H1 & H7:
All employees have a return to work interview following a period of sickness or, in the case of long term sickness, regular contact is maintained. This would identify any changes to working patterns or adaptations to the workplace that may be required to assist the employee to return to work.
We have an Occupational Provider that we can refer employees to if we feel they need support to return to work or assist in the monitoring the health of employees.
Our Staff Handbook includes policies around absence, sick pay and flexible working and this is accessible to all employees. We have recently reviewed the policy for managing absence and our approach to short and long term absence is clearly set out as a flow chart detailing what action is taken at each stage.
Our employee health and wellbeing programme 'Health Mind, Healthy Body, Healthy Axiom' has been in existence since 2010 and this encourages both physical and mental wellbeing.
