Reporting on Health and Wellbeing
CPFT plans to publicise our health and wellbeing strategy on the Public Website. This will show potential employees as well as stakeholders how important we see health and wellbeing as an organisation.
Sickness Absence Data (methods and calculations)
CPFT has introduced the Workforce Scorecard which is a method of presenting workforce data in a focused approach and enables the spotting of trends in a range of workforce metrics including turnover, sickness and engagement (our Health and Wellbeing metrics). Targets are included as is a trajectory from the previous period. This supports the Quarterly Workforce Reviews, which are reported to the Trust Board and includes further explanation and actions around our 4 key priorities of Productivity; Engagement; Process Efficiency; and Capability.
CPFT has developed a Sickness and Absence Management Toolkit which assists managers in monitoring and actively managing sickness and absence in an equitable and supportive process. There are triggers that alert managers and HR and signpost them to appropriate management strategies and actions. Staff can be referred to various supportive organisations when appropriate and offered staged return to work via our Flexible Working policy. Since the introduction of this active management process there has been a reduction in sickness which in turn sees a more healthy workforce. This can be seen in diagram 1.
A Trustwide Quality Dashboard which includes all Trust priority metrics is also produced on a monthly basis. The same health and wellbeing metrics are included, as engagement and productivity are key to the Trust achieving its strategy.
