Please describe how you report on the health and wellbeing of your employees, including annual sickness rates
Central Co-operative is committed to supporting our workforce to lead healthier lives. Health & Wellbeing is one of the key areas of focus for our Corporate Responsibility Strategy.
In 2014 we launched our ‘Walking Works’ campaign which forms part of our Corporate Responsibility focus and the Society’s commitment to promote the health and wellbeing of our colleagues.
Walking has been described by some as a ‘wonder drug’ because of its far reaching health benefits which is why the Society has chosen it as our main colleague health and wellbeing theme.
To support the launch of this initiative, we produced a ‘Walking Works Colleague Pack’, with lots of tips and ideas to help colleagues set up and register a work walking group or start walking more frequently to improve personal health and fitness.
In addition, the Society raises the awareness of health and wellbeing with its members through the members magazine that is produced twice a year.
