Please describe the programme you have in place:
Since signing up to the PHRD we have undertaken a review of our health and wellbeing policies and arrangements and committed to an on-going wellbeing strategy / programme which we recognize as being important as a responsible employer. Specific Pledge Reports contain additional detail.
We have in place: Employee Assistance, Company Doctor, Medical Insurance (subject to minimum service), Health Benefits Plan, SEQOHS Accredited Occupational Health provider, Drugs & Alcohol Screening and a Wellbeing / Health Screening provider.
Our Annual Report is produced each August and as our implementation had only started 3 months before our 2014 report this objective is carried over to August 2015.
Our monthly calendar has resulted in the production each month of awareness posters, briefing / fact sheets and a toolbox talk being issued. We have linked with national organisations to promote / support health and charity campaigns including Stoptober, Movember, Dry January, Think Pink etc.; commercial organisations including DEB / Skcin re sun safe, Working Well Together, BOHS Breathe Freely and IOSH No Time to Loose.
Promotional ‘giveaways’ included branded pedometers and ‘building on a healthy breakfast’ cereal bowls.
In addition to statutory occupational health requirements we have completed 22 days of wellbeing health checks for employees and where completed on site – subcontractors. 553 persons attended appointments at 11 locations across the UK. This is continuing throughout 2015 and rolled out across our Group of over 25 Companies. Anonymised summaries from the providers will be used to target health workshops / health promotion in workplaces during 2015-16 with health checks being repeated the following year.
An on-line monthly health check is being rolled out with 334 users registered to date which we intend to make available for employees family members and subcontractors.
There has been positive feedback in surveys undertaken with high levels of participation and support and we believe the programme has been worthwhile and are committed to continued support of PHRD, including additional Activity pledges.
