We have been working actively with all our customers over the past few years initailly to meet the 2010 salt guidelines and now to meet the 2012 salt guidelines. We produce a range of ready meals and snacks for the wholesale market and also produce a range of bespoke retail products. Our range covers Indian, Chinese, Thai, Mexican, European and British foods. We have approximately 300 products in our range, which fall into a number of catagories for salt. We are working proactively with our customers to reduce salt levels but at the same time to ensure that the flavour profile of the product is not diminished and remains of the highest quality. Some of our products namely in the oriental range, contain a number of ingredients which have naturally high salt contents (e.g. soy sauce, hoisin sauce) this provides a challange to meet the salt requirements without losing that essentail quality in flavour. Currently for our ready meal range we only have 1.4% that remain above the salt target and these are being actively developed to meet the salt targets by end 2012. All newly developed products are now always developed within the target guidelines. We are following the same review process with all our snack products working closely with our customers on the flavour profiles as we lower salt contents we expect to have our complete snack range within target by end of 2012.
