H7. Mental Health and Wellbeing

We have reviewed and refreshed our Health and Wellbeing Strategy for 2014 - 2017. We take a holistic approach to the health and wellbeing of our staff, believing that a healthy workforce both physically and mentally is likely to be motivated and dedicated, delivering high quality services.

We will continue monitor staff feedback from a wide range of sources including the Staff Survey, Staff friends and Family Test and regular engagement events. This helps us identify what is working well leading to further development and the potential sources of stress and other issues for staff.

We remain committed to the Mindful Employer initiative, being one of the original signatories. We have recently retained our Investors in People status and have developed an action plan based of the assessor's report which makes mention of our 'enlightened and considered approach to the health and wellbeing of 2gether staff'.

We will continue to work closely with our occupational health service, known as Working Well, to support our staff and to make reasonable adjustments to enable people to remain at work. We will continue to monitor and manage sickness absence and are consulting with managers on the effectiveness of the policy. Colleagues and their families are able to access our staff counselling service and our 'Lets Talk' (improving Access to Psychological Therapies) service.

We will continue to develop and utilise our new intranet as a source of information and support for colleagues.

As a Trust that provides mental health care to our community we strive to ensure our staff are equally as well looked after as our service users.
