A8(a). Alcohol Unit Reduction

Bestway Wholesale have actively supported the alcohol reduction pledge throughout 2014 and 2015. We have supported major brands like Echo Falls, E & J Gallo, Stella, Fosters, Magners and San Miguel in pushing through sales of reduced ABV% products. Bestway has also listed many new brands with Low ABV% like Old Mout, Rekorderling and Kopparberg to support the alcohol reduction pledge.
In the Beer category, Low ABV% products have improved market share by 0.4% with Like for like 11.2% uplift in volume sales.
In the Cider category, Low ABV% products have improved market share by 2.7% with Like for like 0.4% reduction in volume sales.
In the Wine category, Low ABV% products have improved market share by 0.6% with Like for like 4.4% uplift in volume sales.
Overall Sales of Low ABV% products in License Category have improved market share by 1.9% with approx. 1.7mil. low ABV% cases sold this year.
The total number of alcohol units saved in year April 2014 – Mar 2015 are 16.6 mil. This figure is double the units saved two years ago (April 2012 - March 2013 units saved equated to 8.42mil).
Please note that savings of units sold is calculated based on average category ABV% to product ABV% (Based on average Beer ABV% being at 4.5%, Cider at 5.5% and Wine at 12.5%).
Bestway Wholesale have removed over 9.4 million units of alcohol by supporting the sale of low alcohol products during the past 12 months and continue to pledge to reduce the numbers of alcohol units sold in the future.
