The Co-operative Group has achieved this pledge. We operate 29 in-store espresso café bars offering a range of pre-packed and loose food and drinks including hot and cold sandwiches, pies and hot pasties, cakes and snacks, hot and cold beverages. In addition to this a large number of our stores offer hot pies and pasties in hot food cabinets. We appreciate nutrition information is important for customers choosing foods sold in our espresso café bars and hot food cabinets. We believe that by providing them with nutrition information in a consistent, visible, accessible format, it is easier for them to make healthy choices. In 2008 we applied traffic light labelling to shelf edge tickets for products sold as part of our food to go range and served in our espresso café bars and hot food cabinets this includes cakes, pasties and hot sandwiches. In September 2011 all espresso bar hot beverage menu boards were refreshed to include calorie information in accordance with the principles for calorie labelling agreed by the responsibility deal. This included extra items that could be added such as syrups and whipping cream. Reference information wording was also added to the bottom of the menu boards: "Women need around 2,000 and men 2,500 kcal a day"We took part in the FSA calorie labelling trial in summer 2009 and in March 2010 we supplied feedback on the FSAs consultation on calorie labelling. All Co-operative brand pre-packed food including that sold in our espresso café bars as front of pack traffic light labelling, in addition to full nutrition per 100g on the back of pack.
