F8. Saturated Fat Reduction

ARAMARK has been delivering saturated fat reductions to its customers for several years now.
In 2010, we became the first foodservice contractor to introduce 1% fat milk, removing five tonnes of saturated fat from our customers diets and, more recently, we swapped butter for spread back of house, removing a further two tonnes.
We are now ready to take this to a new level and our actions, grouped under the areas of Removal, Reformation, Education and Engagement, will include:
• Increasing the volume of 1% fat milk supplied throughout our client sites, replacing semi-skimmed milk
• Looking to increase the range of low-fat food options purchased by our customers, through education and engagement campaigns
• Increasing the training for our chefs on all health matters, including actions such as trimming excess fat from meats
• Introducing a Wellbeing activity planner for the company that will focus on a priority health topic each month, one of which will be dedicated to fat reduction
We recognise our responsibility to encourage and help deliver a lower saturated fat intake among our customers, and we look forward to doing so.
