As part of the initiative to encourage and assist staff to become more physically active we at Aunt Bessie's Limited continue to support the following activities:(a) Cycle to work schemeThe government's initiative the cycle to work scheme which offers tax-free bikes to all our employees. Year 1 saw thirty-eight staff taking up this initiative with very positive feedback coming from all participants to the scheme regarding their general well being. This year a further eighteen staff have taken the opportunity to join as part of the overall initiative to lessen their carbon foot print whilst developing a more active life style.This initiative has led to our updating our facilities in order to facilitate the secure storage of the bicycles. We are further currently reviewing the potential of providing showers within the works premises in order to allow staff to freshen up after their journey.(b) Car shareContinued encouragement for personnel to car share for business trips which is incentivised financially.(c) Video conferencingImplementation of video conferencing and telephone conferencing to eliminate unnecessary business travel.(d) Employee wellbeing championsIt is our intention to appoint employee wellbeing champions whose purpose is to create a network through health and safety/occupational health to help employees make behavioural lifestyle changes e.g. promoting the cycle to work scheme amongst others.
