A photograph of Edward, Prince of Wales (1894-1972), laying the first turf at the Ponciau Banks Recreation Ground, Wrexham, Wales, taken by a Planet News Ltd photographer on 18 May 1934 and used by the Daily Herald newspaper. The prince is watched by a large crowd. This photograph has been selected from the Daily Herald Archive, a collection of over three million photographs. The archive holds work of international, national and local importance by both staff and agency photographers.
