-

Where was the project located?

Essential maintenance took place to the drainage system along the A34 north and southbound carriageways between the A4130 Milton Interchange and A4185 Chilton junction in Oxfordshire.

Why was the scheme needed?

Inspections found deficiencies in the drainage system along this section of the A34, contributing to repeated pavement failures.

What work was carried out?

Surface and sub-surface drainage were installed in order to reduce moisture levels and the need for future maintenance.

This work was also carried out in conjunction with the improvement scheme being undertaken by Oxfordshire County Council to enhance the accessibility of the Science Vale UK Enterprise Zone.

How did this benefit road users?

These works were implemented to reduce the risk of future flooding and support Oxfordshire County Councils improvement schemes at Chilton and Milton.
