Where was the project located?

The scheme is located on the M6 in the area of junction 35 near Carnforth, Lancashire.

Why was the scheme needed?

The scheme was needed in order to provide relevant and up-to-date information to drivers about road conditions either local to the M6 or more strategic to the larger network, electronic message signs are being erected.

What work was carried out?

Electronic Message Signs have been provided at one mile and half a mile in advance of junction 35 on both the north and southbound approaches.

How did this benefit road users?

As part of the pinch point programme, this scheme will help to reduce daily congestion, reduce journey times for the travelling public, boost the economy and improve safety.
