Cost:  £1.99 million

Managed by:   Area 12

Where was the project located?

The project completed was located at A64 between the A1(M) at Bramham and Malton.

Why was the scheme needed?

The scheme was required to as the current road surface life expired and was in need of replacing.

What work was carried out?

The scheme carried out carriageway patching and resurfacing (up to 100mm deep), the renewal of road markings and road studs, and associated works including the reinstatement of traffic loops and renewing damaged road gullies.

How did this benefit road users?

The expected outcome of this work will prolong the life of the carriageway and reduce the need for future intervention. On completion of the works there should be a benefit to road users through improved ride quality and safety.

Between Tadcaster and Bilbrough Top solar powered road studs were installed after the resurfacing has taken place. This will improve the delineation of the route and should improve the safety of this section of road.
