Employment up 115,000 compared with the previous quarter

There was an increase in employment and a fall in unemployment, when comparing August to October 2014 with May to July 2014.

Comparing August to October 2014 with May to July 2014, the number of people in employment increased by 115,000 (to reach 30.80 million), the number of unemployed people fell by 63,000 (to reach 1.96 million) and the number of people not in the labour force (economically inactive) aged from 16 to 64 was little changed at 9.06 million.
