Survey name(s): Annual Population Survey (APS)

  • ONS began collecting data on personal well-being in April 2011 and have now made available a combined 3 year dataset which allows for more detailed analysis of local level data and of sub-groups in the population.

  • This is the first ever combined Personal Well-being Annual Population Survey 3 year dataset, the dataset is available for April 2011 to March 2014.

  • The 3 year dataset is available to GSS users through contacting the following email address: Non-government users can also access the dataset through the UK Data Archive. Please contact the UK Data Archive for further information.

  • Data tables are available containing data on Personal Well-being by Country, Region, Local Areas and Individual Characteristics.

  • Interactive and static maps showing personal well-being in the UK at Local Authority District Level are available.

  • A short story exploring personal well-being and sex, disability, ethnicity and religion is available.

  • A rolling 3 year ONS Personal Well-being dataset will be produced annually from 2015 onwards.
