Keep warm this winter

Stay warm this winter. Follow 4 simple steps to make sure you’re getting the best deal from your energy provider and not paying more than you have to.

  1. See if you can get financial help with your energy bills. There are grants and payments available for people who need them.

  2. Check your energy bill’s correct. Learn how to read your electricity and gas meters, and know what the charges mean.

  3. See if you can get a better deal. You might be able to save money on your energy bills by changing tariff or switching to a new supplier.

  4. Find out if you can make your home more energy efficient with the energy grants calculator.

Make energy improvements and get money for generating your own electricity

The Green Deal helps you make energy-saving improvements to your home without having to pay all the costs up front.

You could get money towards renewable heating costs in your home, eg if you install a biomass boiler.

You might also get paid by your energy supplier if you generate your own electricity.
