Get high speed broadband for your business

Superconnected cities

With a high speed connection you can operate your business more efficiently, saving you time and resources and reducing the need for travel.

There are more ways than ever to connect to a high speed line, have a look at the technical advice and find out more about the different broadband technologies available.

For a limited period help is available to fund a broadband connection for small and medium enterprises (SME).

It's usually enough to cover the full cost of a connection and it's a grant not a loan, so you don't have to pay it back. You just pay the VAT, any amount over £3,000 and the monthly subscription cost.

Please be aware that from 1 August 2014 Manchester City Council will be wholly responsible for the administration of the broadband voucher scheme.

Individual or shared application?

A grant can be for an individual organisation, or several organisations can apply as a group through a landlord or agent - if they rent the same premises for example.

If you're part of a shared application, each organisation must apply for funding separately, and the landlord or agent must lead for the whole group.

Did you know?... If there are a number of SMEs in your building or business park, you can each apply for a grant of up to £3,000. These can then be added together and used towards the connection of high speed broadband to all your premises.

If the application is approved, a voucher for up to £3,000 will be issued and you can then arrange connection with your chosen supplier.

It's first come, first served so don't delay.
