The JORUM Community Bay work packages involve the addition of new features and capabilities to the existing JISC JORUM service, including:

  • integration between JORUM and popular VLEs including Moodle,
  • a range of technical tools, widgets and links to useful resources with reviews and user notes
  • case studies covering different aspects of learning materials creation and sharing and reuse such as:
    •  technical issues
    •  media design
    •  information management and metadata
    •  IPR factors
    •  Pedagogic issues
    •  Representations of learning design

  •  a community area that grows to support different communities of users
  •  a part of the development bay will be dedicated to offering structured support and tools to beginners (and others) in creating, sharing and reusing digital learning materials across a wide range of previously separate disciplines – an Integrated Design Environment for E-Learning (IDEE). The IDEE will be in the form of a Just in Time Learning Resource (JITL). The IDEE will be customisable by different users and work in tandem with their own individual upload area to deliver a kind of digital workshop facility for helping people create and reuse learning materials.
