England's statutory landscape designations: a practical guide to your duty of regard (NE243)
The leaflet is aimed at helping organisations who have a statutory duty to have regard to the purposes of designation for English Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, National Parks and the Broads. Under the duty every public body, holder of public office and any statutory undertaker must take into account the potential effect on these landscapes of any decision it reaches or activity it carries out. A series of case studies explores how the duty can work in practice to benefit partnerships and projects in these protected areas.
