Data quality in the Longitudinal Study

Measures of the completeness and comparability of the Longitudinal Study (LS) sample over time.

  • Quality of tracing

Tracing rates indicate the likelihood of both census and event data linkage for groups within the Longitudinal Study (LS)

  • Sampling quality

Sampling quality in the LS is measured by sampling fractions indicating under- and over-sampling of the LS as a whole and for subgroups within the study

  • Quality of Census-to-Census linkage

The measure of successful linkage of sample members' records from one census to another

  • LS event sampling and linkage

Registered events are also linked to LS members.
