The Schools Recruitment Service (SRS) has now closed.

The SRS was introduced three years ago with the aim of building a healthy competitive market for schools recruitment. The innovative online system provided educational employers, in England, with an improved process for recruiting permanent leadership, teaching and support staff.

The service was designed to make the recruitment process more efficient, saving schools time, money and resources by driving up quality and bringing costs down. Jobseekers have benefited from this easy and more streamlined method of applying for school-based jobs.

SRS appears to have been a catalyst for change. Schools are now using their autonomy and competitive market choices for their recruitment campaigns; whether by private supplier e-recruitment systems or local authority provided service to ensure they are getting good value for money in their recruitment.
