The UK Research Partnership Investment Fund is designed to support investment in higher education research facilities. The fund was originally set up in 2012.
In June 2013, the government announced further funding for 2015 to2017.
We have now launched the bidding process for 2015-16. The deadline for applications is 24 January 2014.
This follows the Government’s announcement that it would extend the fund to 2016-17, making at least £100 million of match-funding available each year to leverage private investment.
A further call for bids relating to funding for 2016-2017 will follow.
The fund has four main objectives. These are to:
The fund supports large-scale projects that can also attract private investment.
In rounds one and two over £301 million was allocated to 22 projects, attracting at least £826 million of private investment.
