Major railway incidents
Below is a brief synopsis of both major and historical rail incidents. Within the pages you will also find accompanying relevant reports, outcomes and recommendations.
Since October 2005, the Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB) also publishes reports into significant rail incidents, in their capacity as UK's independent body for investigating accidents and incidents occurring on the railways of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and tramways in England and Wales. Reports can be found on their website.
