Traffic bulletin: Westbound M26 in Kent reopened following earlier incident

03 September 2013 12:40

Highways Agency

Road users are advised that all lanes have reopened westbound on the M26 between junction 3, for the M20, and junction 1, where it meets the M25 junction 5, following an earlier vehicle fire.

There are no delays in the area and traffic is flowing well.

All lanes in the westbound direction had been closed due to a fire involving a large goods vehicle, which happened just after 5am today. The lorry was carrying fibre glass reels which had to be removed from the vehicle before the carriageway could be reopened.

The Highways Agency and its partners have worked hard to reopen the lanes as soon as it was safe to do so.
