Making a comment

We’re really keen to hear your views.

We want to keep the discussion as open as possible. We'd really like to hear how what you’re doing supports the ambitions of the drug strategy. We won’t censor critical comments, as long as they’re respectful and meet the guidelines outlined below.

The intended audience for this blog is people who are involved in the delivery of the Drug Strategy. This doesn’t mean we’re not interested in the views of those who are affected by the implementation of the strategy but for the purpose of piloting this blog, we may not post wider comments that don’t directly inform policy implementation.

Moderation policy

The first thing you need to know is that this blog is pre-moderated. This means that all of the comments will be read before they are published. Therefore it could take up to 24 working hours for your comments to appear, and perhaps longer over the weekend.

There are just a few basic guidelines you need to follow, to keep things constructive and protect this blog from abuse. Please note that inappropriate comments will be rejected. The guidelines below outline what we deem to be inappropriate for this blog.

Submitting a comment

Please ensure that your ideas and comments:

  • are respectful of others - comments should not be malicious or offensive in nature, and should not constitute a personal attack on a person's character
  • don't incite hatred on the basis of race, religion, gender, nationality or sexuality or other personal characteristic
  • don't use language which is offensive, intemperate, or provocative. This not only includes obvious swear words and insults, but any language to which people reading it could reasonably take offence
  • don't reveal personal details, such as private addresses, phone numbers, email addresses or other online contact details
  • don't break the law - this includes libellous, false or defamatory statements, condoning illegal activity, and breaking copyright
  • are reasonably concise, and don't constitute spamming of the site
  • are in English - unfortunately, we don't currently have the resource to moderate comments in other languages
  • are relevant - please don't post messages unrelated to this channel or the subject under discussion
  • don't include party political material, commercial endorsement, promotion of any product, service or publication

We may have to delete comments that breach these guidelines.

Thank you
