NHS Bursary – Health Professional Students: Academic Year 2011/12

The new NHS Student Bursary application system goes live from 28 October 2011 at 12 noon. New students commencing courses from 1 January 2012, who are eligible for an NHS Bursary for the academic year 2011/12, will be able to apply via the Bursary Online Support System (BOSS). This can be found on the NHS Business Services Authority website at www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk by clicking on Student Bursaries > How Can I Apply? > Information Page.

After completing an online application, students will be assigned a unique student reference number. Students are reminded to take extra care to note this as it must be included with any documentation or correspondence that is sent to NHS Student Bursaries. If students do not include their reference number, this could result in a delay to the processing of their application and also any payment of NHS bursary they may be entitled to.

NHS Student Bursaries will contact relevant students to invite them to make an application via BOSS, any students who commenced a course prior to 1 January 2012 should download, complete and return a ‘hard copy’ application form(s) in the usual manner.

Please note that this facility will not be available until Friday 28 October 2011 at 12 noon.
