The Study of Pedagogical Effectiveness in Early Learning was conducted during 2000-2001 and was designed to investigate Foundation Stage practitioners' perceptions and understanding of effective pedagogy.

The intention throughout the study was to produce a framework that could be used alongside the Curriculum guidance for the foundation stage highlighting the factors and dimensions that constitute effective early years pedagogy.
