The Children’s NSF is a 10-year programme intended to stimulate long-term and sustained improvement in children’s health. Setting standards for health and social services for children, young people and pregnant women, the NSF aims to ensure fair, high quality and integrated health and social care from pregnancy, right through to adulthood.
This publication outlines the children bill Every Child Matters and the principles behind the NSF.
The National Service Framework is divided into three parts. This publication - the first five standards - applies to all children. These are the core standards.
Each chapter includes: a vision, a standard, markers of good practice, a rationale and interventions.
