These updated figures were originally scheduled for release in the annual School Workforce volume. The volume has been postponed, because of a temporary resource issue, so these key statistics are being released in an updated SFR.
The SFR updates the provisional data released in SFR09/2004 on 29 April. The national and regional tables have been updated and LEA level tables have been added. A similar SFR was released last year, SFR23/2003. The updated SFR will include an additional LEA level table showing the full time equivalent number of teaching assistants for 1997 - 2004.
