This bulletin provides provisional statistics on adoptions of children who were looked after by local councils in England prior to being adopted. It is an update from the previous bulletin which was released in November 2002. The format and content are broadly the same as last year. It includes details on the number of children adopted, age, the length of the adoption process and whether the children were adopted by their former foster carer.
