This Statistical First Release presents key statistics on the awards of key skill qualifications in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The information provided is taken from the key skills database. This is a joint project between the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) and the Qualification Curriculum Authority (QCA). The statistics on candidates taking and achieving key skills are collated from the information supplied by those Awarding Bodies who offered key skills between October 2000 and September 2002. This is the first SFR of this kind - no previous information on Key Skills has been published.
