This is an update of SFR 30/2001 published on 29 June 2001. The SFR gives estimates of participation by young people in education, training and employment. It combines information from a number of sources to provide estimates of the numbers of 16, 17 and 18 year olds in education and training in England. It shows changes in the proportion of each age group participating in education and training over the last ten years.

These participation estimates were first published in an SFR (16/2002) on 27 June 2002. The revised estimates, published here, incorporate minor revisions to the 2000/01 maintained schools data and small corrections to the 2000/01 independent schools data.
