This statistical first release contains provisional numbers for pupils, teachers, education support staff, pupil:teacher ratios (PTRs) and pupil:adult (PARs) ratios in maintained nursery, primary and secondary schools in England in January 2002 and some comparable figures for 1992 and 1998 to 2001. Similar information is also available for each Government Office Region and Local Education Authority area
