This regular Statistical First Release (last published 30 July 1999) is based upon information collected in the Annual Schools' Census and the Survey of Admission Appeals. It provides data on the number of admission appeals lodged, how many were heard, and the number decided in the parents' favour, by type of school in England. Data from previous years have also been included.
